On the occasion of Her Majesty The Queen of Denmark's 80th birthday we have made a model of the Queen's residence Amalienborg in Copenhagen. The model is handmade in sustainable wood, produced in Denmark and consists of 8 building blocks which can be combined in many different ways.
How can you be sure that the product you buy is sustainable when the concept is used and abused in so many contexts. At Kolekto we work with sustainability in all aspects; From idea to design through the entire production process. As a goal we are constantly working sustainably, and we continue to push our limits on how sustainable our design and products can be.
We were very proud when UN contacted us and asked if we would design the awards that were given to UN's climate summit meeting in New York, September 2019.
Blox building is designed by OMA architects and financed by Realdania. It is home to the Danish Architecture Center, DAC and is an acrobatic mix of destinations (museum, restaurants, offices, companies, apartments, etc.) Inspired by OMAS ideas, sketches and the building's final result, Kolekto has worked with the history and structures behind Blox and transformed it into a work of art / sculpture and playful building system. Hereby Realdania has received a personal and sustainable product they can give in gift.
Camilla Van Deurs left the job as a partner and architect in Gehl Architects to take over the job as Copenhagen city architect and, on that occasion, she received a unique and personal edition of Metropol Wood. On the gift delivered in a handmade wooden box, we engraved her name and a personal greeting from her former workplace. We are extremely honored that a product from Kolekto was chosen as a gift for such a special and honorable occasion. We hope that Camilla was pleased with the gift and that it will stand as an architectural sculpture with which she can always puzzle around as an internal memory of her time as a city architect in Denmark's capital and metropol. We engrave a name and a personal greeting on many of our products. This makes a gift from Kolekto even more unique and personal. Find inspiration for your next gift here on this page. See Metropol
In 2018, the Courtauld Commitment – winner of the 2018 State-of-the-Art Partnership of the Year Award – did not receive a flashy, glass or golden trophy to recognize their excellence. Rather, when WRAP CEO Marcus Gover and Director Richard Swannell joined Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Mary of Denmark on the stage of the Danish Opera House, the Princess passed along a birchwood globe, branded with the P4G swirl. It was a symbolic structure made with sustainable practices and materials – meant to symbolize a world unified through partnership.
